The learners who meet the necessary academic requirements during Skill Level 4, receive the opportunity to enroll for the following courses presented at the school:

  • Early Childhood Development (NQF 4)
  • N-course

After successful completion of the above-mentioned courses, learners receive certificates issued by the relevant independent organizations.

At Die Anker School, participation in sport is encouraged amongst all learners. Every learner should have the opportunity to feel part of a team and develop his/her skills through the support of teammates and the competent coaches of Die Anker School. Achievements reached at Die Anker School enable learners to participate in sporting events on a provincial - and national level as the opportunity arises. All sporting events are within mainstream school leagues.

Christmas Market

Die Anker School hosts an annual Christmas market on the school premises during the last term of each year. The main attraction of the market is the showcasing of products that the learners from Die Anker School have made throughout the year, in the various trade subjects. Additionally, the market offers entertainment, refreshments and independent exhibitors. Die Anker School Christmas market is a fun family-friendly outing.

Feeding Scheme

All learners from Die Anker School who are in need of a warm meal can benefit from the school’s feeding scheme.  The learners receive two meals per day - porridge, which is served before school and lunch, which is served during the first break.  No permission is required for a learner to visit the feeding scheme - they are free to join at any time. This is done to prevent isolation and stigma.

Transport

Die Anker School offers bus transport to learners.  The school busses follow a set route each school day to transport learners to and from school.  These routes are set out to cover an estimated 30km radius around the school.

Learner Drivers

At Die Anker School our senior learners are given the opportunity to obtain their learner- and driver’s licenses with the support from the school.  The school owns a car specifically designated to the training of these learners.  They can practice their driving skills with the help and supervision of our competent teachers facilitating the programme.

Occupational Therapy

Die Anker School has Occupational Therapists on the premises to assist learners on a referral basis. The therapists intervene with cognitive functioning, emotional wellbeing, social participation, scholastic difficulties, physical development and pre-vocational skills using a holistic approach.

Educational Specialist

Die Anker School benefits from the expertise of the on-site Educational Specialist. The Educational Specialist assists with the placement of learners into the appropriate classes upon admission to the school. Thereafter he continuously provides psychological support to any learner.

Admission Info

Prospective candidates of Die Anker School have to follow the admissions procedure set out by the District Office. The District Office is responsible for the evaluation of learners and making appropriate referrals for placement thereafter. No admissions can be done directly through Die Anker School.
